We’re the developers behind a site and corresponding app, tentatively titled homepage—allowing young people to create personal pages, make posts, write blogs, etc.
We’re told there was a time when the "web" was like a collection of pages, carrying the weight of unfinished ideas, of small personal homes stitched together in HTML.
Somewhere along the way, the future of this earnest project was left in a state of suspension—like a museum piece, referenced ad nauseam through facile aesthetics.
At the same time, of course, the Platforms consolidated. Now, these companies rely on a comparatively small set of creators to drive engagement from a momentous set of spectators. In this endless stream of the present, viewers' thoughts are augmented before they’ve had a moment to think.
You’ll find elements of the before times in most of what we create at No Host. Hopefully, it’s more than just references packaged for visual enjoyment—the point is to resurrect a project never really seen through. Which is risky, I guess, because it’s never survived the test of time. Or, more earnestly put, the test of the market.
But hey, we’ll give it a go.
